Asystole (asystole
English) - no cardiac electrical acti vity on the ECG as manifested in the form of a line similar to th e horizontal line (isoelectric line) in at least two adjacent ECG Collections. Its occurrence is usually a total lack of activity of heart contractions, except in cases of alleged asystolii. In the case of alleged asystolii isoelectric line on the ECG is caused by technical problems of equipment for recording ECG, poor adhesion of electrodes to the skin or errors in the technique of the test; mechanical heart function is preserved in these cases.
